Our Favourite Days Out with the Kids

There are no shortage of wonderful sightseeing trips that your children will love, all within a short drive from Pagel. That said, many of the guests don’t venture out at all during their week long visit with us.  As one dad reflected:

“With so much to keep everyone occupied within Pagel’s boundaries, it’s easy to ignore the world outside.

If you DO decide to explore the beautiful Lot region and its surroundings, however,  you will not be disappointed. Recently we were lucky enough to welcome Anna, Tristan, twins Poppy and Tabitha and 1 yr old Matilda from family travel blog site: Twins and Travels. They did all the hard work so that our future guests would know just what to expect when arriving with us at Pagel.

They visited Castlenaud, Rocamadour and Cahors on our behalf and here’s what they had to say:

Cahors: (30 minutes from Pagel)

On our last morning at Pagel, we visited the town of Cahors which was 30 minutes away.  It was the first town we had visited and was quite different from anywhere else we had been. We took a lovely walk along the river, over the stunning bridge and enjoyed lunch whilst we watched the boats go by.  There was a small train that rain around the town showing you the sights but the girls opted to go back to Pagel for their kids’ club;)

Castlenaud: (45 minutes from Pagel)

Another magical day in the South West France.  I just love that there are so many places to explore and the area is really divine. I could honestly be tempted to live in this region.  We spent a good few hours in Castlenaud exploring the grounds and the museum set inside the castle.  We also had a lovely lunch over looking the valley.  There are plenty of places to eat here, just make sure if you need to have lunch you do it before entering the castle.

Rocamadour – Cliff Side Village: (60 minutes from Pagel)

Whilst it was an amazing place to admire from the roadside, seeing the village built into the cliff which was incredible, the village itself didn’t take that long to explore and I would probably combine it with the Monkey Park to make a day of it.

You park down the bottom and can walk up or there is a little train that will take you up which the girls loved. We just about managed to squeeze the buggy in too!

In short, book your 2020 summer holiday with us now to ensure you don’t miss out!  There’s a reason such a high percentage of our clientele are repeat guests!
