Food
A sense of indulgence…
The Lot is renowned for its Gastronomy, it has its own magazine Bonne Table du lot and is proud of its tradition and heritage when it comes to food and wine.
Eating out is an experience in itself and children are always welcome.
Le Gindreau
Our local Michelin star restaurant and one of the Bonne tables du Lot top restaurants to visit. Le Gindreau is only15 minutes drive from Pagel and is set on the edge of a medieval village set facing west with beautiful sunsets it is the perfect place to sit and have a glass of champagne as you choose from the amazing menu. Eating here is an experience in itself with the Sommelier looking like Peter Ustinov and the Owners wife so graceful almost floating as she glides effortlessly through ensuring all is well.
The food is our of this world as are the wines and it is the perfect place for Dinner” a deux” however they do have a children’s menu as the French often bring their little ones out for meals in restaurants such as this.
Booking is essential.
La Recreation
A firm favourite and one that many of our returning Pagelians go back to year after year after year.
It is set on the edge of a medieval village 10 minutes from Pagel in an old school house and is run by Noel who speaks very good English. The food is almost as good as Le Gindreau but the atmosphere is more relaxed as you sit outside under the Wisteria or open sided barn and choose from a fantastic menu of four courses. They offer children’s set menu which they serve with your starter and they deliver fresh chicken breast and chips with ketchup so the little ones are happy as you enjoy a gastronomic experience.
It is just the most perfect place to have a long lazy lunch or a beautiful venue for an evening meal.

It produces the finest French food and delicacies and you can take away, whether you require a main course only or starter, main and dessert. Ewe used the take away facility for a special News Years function here at Pagel and the food was outstanding - just reheat for serving.
When you arrive at the shop just choose from a deli type counter for your starter, main and dessert. Bring the restaurant to your gite. No baby sitters, no cooking total relaxation with fine foods. Self-catering in a new way.
